Everyone in the gymnasium at Garrett Community College learned a new rule in the game of basketball on Saturday night. After staging a miraculous comeback and hearing the buzzer go off, the Prince George's Community College Men's Basketball team thought they had a 86-85 victory. While both teams shook hands, Prince George's Community College player Donald Williams grabbed the rim and did a pullup to celebrate the comeback road victory. The official noticed the excessive celebration and accessed a post game (after the buzzer) technical foul. Down 86-85, Garrett's Rodney Clark swished both free throws giving Garrett CC the 87-86 victory. "This is the most bizarre call I've ever seen in my 30+ years of being involved in the game. Although I will never condone the act of grabbing a rim in celebration, the player acted out of emotion," said Coach Joyner.

This win would have moved Prince George's Community College to 9-5 in the MD JUCO and secured home court advantage for the first round of the MD JUCO playoffs next week. Prince George's Community College was down by as many as 18 points in the game and also endured the ejection of Azel Prather with 12 minutes left. He was accessed two technical fouls for jawing back and forth with a Garrett player. The game was very intense and physical.

Prince George's Community College will host Allegany Community College on Monday, February 7th at 7pm. This will be the last regular season home game of the year.
