Nine points and one assist would usually be considered a somewhat off night for Corey Wood, but his last shot of the game is one that he, nor anyone in attendance last night, will soon forget.

The men's basketball team had a delayed tip off with St. Mary's College JV team due to some of the Seahawk players that were stuck in traffic with jerseys for the remainder of the team. The game, originally slated to begin at 7pm, had a 7:35pm tip. The Owls jumped on top early when Christian Hurrington won the jump ball and David Golladay scored a short jump shot. The first half was a non-stop back and forth battle between the two teams, with both teams swapping leads. John Savoy led the Owls in first half scoring, coming off the bench to score 8 points. Going into half time St. Mary's had a 3 point lead on the Owls and the ball to start the second half.

The Seahawks increased their lead at the beginning of the second half and held a consistent 5 point lead through the first 10 minutes of the half. Then the Owls, led by Josiah Woodruff, made their comeback to take a 4 point lead at the 5:38 mark. Woodruff finished the night with a team high 15 points. The Owls held a marginal lead up to the last 2 minutes of the game when St. Mary's #1 scored a short jump shot to bring it within 1. NieRonn Miles answered back when he was fouled and made both of his free throws to take the Owls back to a 3 point lead. Post player #34 of the Seahawks scored a quick lay in with 50.8 left in the game. After an Owl offensive turnover, the Seahawks had an opportunity to re-take the lead, with 25.9 left in the game, when #34 was fouled. Luckily for the Owls he missed both free throws. Kevin Domingue got the defensive rebound and was quickly fouled by St. Mary's. Domingue did not crumble under pressure and scored both crucial free throws taking the Owl lead back to 3. With the Owls in press and putting a lot of defensive pressure on the Seahawks, #1 for St. Mary's scored a beautiful 3 pointer from about 6 feet beyond the arc to tie the game with about 10 seconds remaining. With no time outs remaining for the Owls and full court pressure by the Seahawks, PGCC inbounded the ball. David Golladay dribbled up court and passed the ball off to Corey Wood with 3 seconds left. Wood then makes a shot every player dreams of, a pull up jump shot from just inside the arc. The ball left his hand and the buzzer sounded just before the ball hit nothing but net. The crowd exploded with excitement, the team rushed Corey and St. Mary's was left with well fought loss.

David Golladay had a double double on the night scoring 10 and 10 rebounds. Kevin Domingue finished with 10 points, 20 rebounds and 3 blocks. The Owls increased their record to 6-2. They will take on CCBC - Essex on Wednesday, December 7 at Prince George's, 7pm tip off.
