Both Owl Basketball Teams came out on Valentine's Day and made statements to their opponents, earning victories in the first round of the MD JUCO Basketball Tournament.  The Lady Owls (#5 seed) took on the #12 seeded Garrett Lady Lakers and walked away with a 72-53 victory.  The men (#6 seed) followed suit and coasted to a 78-47 vicotry over #11 seeded CCBC Essex Knights.

Both teams will face Allegany College of Maryland Trojans in the quarterfinals held at Frederick Community College.  The women will see #4 seeded Allegany on Thursday, February 16 with a 1pm tip.  The men will face #3 seeded Allegany on Friday with a 3pm tip off. 

Just 2 weeks ago the Owls and Trojans played and the Trojans came out on top in both matchups.  The Owls will look to avenge those regular season losses to move on to play Saturday in the MD JUCO Tournament semi-finals.  If the women win on Thursday, they would face the winner of #1 Montgomery College Rockville and #8 CCBC Dundalk on Saturday at 1pm.  If the men pull off the upset they would see winner of #2 Chesapeake Community College and #2 Cecil College on Saturday at 7pm.
