JAMES BRYSON - 1993 Villanova graduate James Bryson was reunited with his childhood friend, coach Xavier Joyner in 2007 as he was named an assistant basketball coach on his staff at Montgomery College Germantown. The 2010-11 campaign will mark his fourth season on Joyner's coaching staff and his first at Prince George's Community College. In his first three seasons on the coaching staff, MC Germantown has advanced to the Division III Nationals (finishing 4th), won an average of 23 wins a season, a runner's-up in the MDJUCO championship (2010) and captured two Division III region 20 championships. During his four seasons on the Main Line, the 6-10 Bryson became one of the most affable players in Villanova history. He totaled 841 points from 1989-1993 and still ranks on the all-time school's rebounding list.

After graduating with a degree in Communications Arts, Bryson played for 11 seasons in Europe, averaging a career-best 23.8 ppg and 11.8 rpg in 1999 (France) while winning his only league MVP. Bryson, a native of Largo, MD., returned to Prince George's County after his playing days were complete. He and his wife Sydney, live in Waldorf, Md., with their daughters, Brielle (14), Ciara (12) and son Justin (8)
