[Baseball/Softall] Owls Softball Picks Up First Win of the Season

The Owls Softball Team picked up their first win of the season on Monday, February 18 versus the Gulls of Rappahannock Community College in the All Seasons Softball Event held in Richmond, VA. Freshman pitcher, Shannon Peters, notched the win in the circle allowing only 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while facing 29 batters.

Prince George's Community College Freshman RHP Jonathon Powell (Northeast HS, Pasadena MD) in his first collegiate start was un-hittable in 3-0 win vs. St. Claire County CC (Michigan) throws a complete game No-Hitter on 92 pitches striking out 8 and surrendering 2 base on balls.

The Owl Baseball and Softball fall seasons are now in full swing. Both teams are working out and playing in fall scrimmages. All interested athletes should come to the Athletic Department located in Novak Field House Room 111, or call 301-322-0518. Requirements to practice include updated doctor's physical, student athlete data form and proof of registration.

In season spring season tryouts begin January 10.
