Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference President Marc Ershler announced the Student Athletes of the Month for December 2010. Forward Azel Prather, Jr. of Prince George's Community College was selected for men's basketball.

Forward Azel Prather, Jr. of Prince George's Community College led his team to a 4-1 record for the month of December while averaging an amazing 19 points per game and 16 rebounds per game. He had 24 points and 13 rebounds against powerhouse #2 nationally ranked Cecil College. Azel has produced a double double in 13 out of 14 games this season. Not only is he leading by example on the court, but he finished the first semester with a 3.5 grade point average. He is the true meaning of student athlete.
